PAT Audit

Perform achieve and trade (PAT) is a program of bureau of energy efficiency under the national mission for enhanced energy efficiency (NMEEE).

It is regulatory process to reduce specific energy consumption, with an associated market based mechanism to enhance the cost effectiveness through certification of excess energy saving which can be traded.

Under this scheme, energy saving targets is given to designated consumers (DCs) for a three year cycle. The lower specific energy consumption DCs have lower target of reduction and high specific energy consumption has more target of energy reduction. This is “gate-to-gate” approach which includes the energy consumption against the total unit production.

A process of normalization neutralizes the impact on energy consumption based on Environment and other factors beyond the control of designated consumers. Measurement and Verification designated consumers at the end of the three year cycle is carried out by energy Professional i.e. BEE empaneled Accredited energy auditors.
